Veronika Janečková was born in Prague in 1982. In 2003, she graduated from the Film School in Písek, subject “Image and Sound in Film and Television” with her short documentary Zlaté manželství/ Golden Marriage about what marriage after fifty years can be like, awarded at several festivals (among others at the AFO 2004 in Olomouc). From 2005, she studies at the Department of Documentary Film at the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague (FAMU). Here she made her films Vizemburg, Sestření/ Sistering and her biographic film Pravztahy/ Roots of Relationship which roused controversial reaction. In her free time, she enjoys photography and sings in the popular group “Mandelbrotovy kostičky”.
