Susanna Baranzhieva (Russia)

Susanna Baranzhieva has graduated from Journalistic Faculty of the Rostov-upon-Don State University / Russia. For a long time she has been working in the leading press of Armenia, and became one of leading journalists of the Republican press. She was the head of the department of the Sketch, Journalism and Art in the magazine “Literary Armenia”. In the beginning of the 1980-s she was working with S. Paraganov. In the middle of the 1980-s she has been working with S. Peleshan. Now she is preparing to publish his sketch-books. Since 1997 she has been working for the State Radio station “Don-TR” in the Rostov-upon-Don. As a script writer she wrote scripts for more than 100 TV broadcasts. She has written scripts for 5 films, two of which (Your Race and My Age) were awarded with the prizes of the National Academy “TEFI”. She was dismissed for the journey to Chechnya, where she was working on the film Pure Thursday. Film Wild Wild Beach is Baranzhieva’s debut as director.
