Born in 1956 in Minsk.He studied history at the Belarus Stade university. Worked at Belarusfilm as an assistant director ( 1978 – 1992 ). He finished courses for assistant and second unit directors at VGIK (Moscow). In 1992 he started to play and stage performances at French groups. In 2002 he debuted in documentary cinema. Made films for French TV. Since 1992 works in France and Russia, produces documentaires. Member of the jury of international festivals. Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters.
