Julian Schwanitz born in 1982 is German cinematographer and director. Julian studied camera and Film studies at the Fachhochschule Dortmund before moving to Scotland where he continued his studies.
After graduation, Julian completed a post-graduate in documentary directing at Edinburgh College of Art.
In 2011 Julian won a BAFTA New Talent Award for his cinematography on Disco and he won his second BAFTA in 2012 for Kirkcaldy Man.
Julian is now based in Scotland.
