Maria Mohr is a German documentary filmmaker based in Berlin. After studying architecture in Darmstadt and Paris she graduated in film at University of the Arts Berlin. Her poetic documentaries explore the borders between the personal and the public, absence and presence, memory and history. Her work has received several international festival awards and art grants from Academy of the Arts Berlin or Gerd Ruge Stipendium from Film- und Medienstiftung NRW. Parallel to her own practice Maria works in film education and for juries, she is member of German Documentary Association AG DOK and founding member of ProQuote Film.
