Adéla Babanová (1980) is an experimental film and video artist. In her works she tries to cross the boundaries of fine art and film by combining various film and television genres with an overlap into spatial video installations. She exhibited her projects in Czech and foreign art galleries and museums, e.g. Zachęta – National Gallery of Art (Warsaw), Kumu Art Museum (Tallinn), National Gallery Prague, Prague City Gallery, Zahorian & Van Espen Gallery, Spagnuolo Gallery (Washington) etc. She has also participated in numerous local and international film festivals and art fairs, e.g. LOOP Barce lona /2018, 2013/, FilmFestival Cottbus /2018/, Warsaw Film Festival /2018/, IFF Karlovy Vary /2014, 2013/, IFF Febiofest /2018/, IDFF Ji.hlava /2013/ etc. She has been nominated for several prestigious awards for her work, shortlisted for the Dorothea Von Stetten Kunstpreis in Germany in 2014, the Jindřich Chalupecký Award in 2012, and the LVMH Young Creators Award (Prix des Jeunes créateurs) in Paris in 2002.
