Dieter Auner (Romania)

Dieter Auner was born in 1970, in Mediaş (Romania), in a Transylvanian Saxon family. In early 1990 he emigrated to Germany, living afterwards in Ireland. He worked as a photographer and cameraman for both Irish and international productions. His debut as a director was made with the film Leaving Transylvania (2006), a documentary on the life of the Transylvanian Saxon community in Romania. is powered by Doc Alliance, a creative partnership of 7 key European documentary film festivals. Our aim is to advance the documentary genre, support its diversity and promote quality creative documentary films.
