Karel Melíšek (1905–1942) was an inter-war and war Czech film text writer, script writer (e.g. Father Kondelík and Bridegroom Vejvara, 1937; Woman below the Cross, 1937) and short film director. His key short films include How Film Is Made (1936), Attack on Prague (1936) and The Summer of Two Presidents (1936), capturing Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk in the last years of his life and his successor Edvard Beneš, both at their summer residences.
