Born in 1957 in Basel, Switzerland, she studied pedagogy and later worked as a teacher, freelance journalist and photographer as well as acrobat in different circus projects. Between 1987-1993 studied documentary film at the Munich Filmschool. Since 1993 works as independent filmmaker and editor.
