Anna Grusková is a film and theater author, director, dramaturge and curator. She graduated from the Theatre and Film Science at the Charles University in Prague and from Further Education of Film Language Course at the Film Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts. She initiated, led or participated in many domestic and international art projects with social dimension (Brides, Donaudrama, European Photography etc.).
She worked at the Slovak Academy of Sciences, taught at the Academy of Performing Arts and also worked as a dramaturge in the Slovak Television. Her theatre play The Woman Rabbi was in 2012 staged in the Slovak National Theatre. As a dramaturge and screenwriter she collaborated with directors Philipp Boehm, Juraj Johanides and Robo Švéda. She was the screenwriter and director of the documentary film The Woman Rabbi (K2 Production and STV, 2012) and Return to a Burning House (Museum of the Slovak National Uprising and Anzio, 2014). In 2016, in cooperation with the Slovak Audiovisual Fund, the Slovak Radio and Television and the Goethe Institute in Bratislava she prepares documentary films Thankless Stranger Irena Brežná and Last Mohicans.
