Sohel Rahman (Bangladesh)

Born in Chittagong, Bangladesh, Sohel's love of visual art, literature and storytelling drew him to filmmaking at an early age. With a background in English literature at Shahjalal University in Bangladesh, in his filmmaking and writing focuses is on human stories. Attending DocNomads international European joint masters course in documentary film directing from 2012-2014, he studied at film universities in Portugal, Hungary and Belgium. During this time he directed and produced several films in each country. In 2015 Sohel was a recipient of the Leonardo da Vinci fellowship grant to further his professional training in Portugal and Belgium. Sohel currently lives in Lisbon, working as a director and producer at Vila do Cinema.
