The film traces the eighth generation of the family of puppeteers, Kopecký, through brothers Rosťa and Vítek Novák, in critical moments of their lives, starting with the year 2014 when they acquired their own theatre space – Jatka 78 – sparking the idea for their ambitious project with new circus ensemble Cirk La Putyka.
The new circus is not merely a glittery show chock-full of spectacular artistry and acrobatics. Cirk La Putyka is not only an ensemble of free-thinking artists riding a wave of popularity among Prague’s intellectual elite. It is a dream come true – and not only for ringleader Rosťa Novák, but also his ancestors; it was namely his self-destructive resolve which, after eight generations of travelling artists, finally brought them what they always wanted - their own theatre.
