The film depicts the eighth generation of a family of puppeteers, through documenting critical moments of the lives of two brothers. We see them realize an ambitious project in a new theatre space –their own circus ensemble, Cirk La Putyka. The new circus isn’t merely a show full of artistry and acrobatics, nor is it just artists riding a wave of popularity among Prague’s intellectual elite. It is a dream come true – and not only for ringleader Rosťa Novák, but also his ancestors; after eight generations of travelling artists, they finally run a theatre.
