For José and his family, the old La Soledad villa is a haven in the capital of a Venezuela plagued with crime and political chaos. However, they are now being forced to leave because the property is only unofficially inherited from the original owners, and legal inheritors have decided to sell the estate. The film is set in a beautiful, decaying mansion, and the characters are its real inhabitants. Capturing his friend José’s hardships through a magic realist lens, director Jorge Thielen Armand gives an unprecedented look at the economic catastrophe of contemporary Venezuela.
