In times of pandemic, one has to face more turmoil of the outer world than ever. Warnings and measures impact the way we live. Chaotic government policies and scaremongering news from the media are not helpful. However, some things don’t lose their value. And that is what the selection of short films from north-eastern Poland prepared for this year’s online edition of the Bardzo fajny festival is about!
Film Podlasie in Attack is one of the most prominent activities of the Cultural centre of Białystok focusing on promotion of independent cinema of the north-east of Poland since 2004. Thanks to their work, the International festival of short films ZubrOFFka was created. The festival has become an important element of the cultural map of Poland. Projections FPA! have been a part of the Bardzo fajny festival since 2017. The short films from Podlasie have been featured at festival and summer screenings from the same year.

We don’t get enough sleep and we don’t pay attention to it. Let yourself be carried away on the waves of music and dreamy associations.
Dziwadło (Weirdo)

Have a look out of the window and imagine there is a monkey running around your inner courtyard. Or that all humans are monkeys, for that matter.
Strawberry soup
Memories are beneficial for us. Close your eyes and embark on a journey to the past. Remember places, people, flavours and moments you’d like to relive.
Do serca Twego (To Thy Heart)
A lollipop with a chewing gum inside, a swing… love is behind the corner.
The Deal
We do everything differently during the pandemic. To remember the old customs and to think how much they have changes, we will take you to a wedding in eastern Poland on the turn of 1950s and 60s of the previous century.
Special screening: Supporting feature Bardzo fajné léto
We at the Bardzo fajny festival love supporting feature films. For several years already we have been introducing these before each feature film. There will be a special online screening of one-minute film documentary depicting the atmosphere of the Bardzo fajny summer cinema of 19 August. The film was done in our production by Ondřej Šálek who is a documentarist and will be available on the Dafilms platform and on Facebook.
DAFilms.com is powered by Doc Alliance, a creative partnership of 7 key European documentary film festivals. Our aim is to advance the documentary genre, support its diversity and promote quality creative documentary films.
