Life in San Agustín is a utopia that came to an end, a history in the past, and an universe in extinction. It is the final rural community of Lima, with only a wall separating it from the Jorge Chávez airport. A place with over 100 years of history previously lived as any agricultural community. Between 2012 and 2013 the Peruvian state expropriated San Agustín’s territory to amplify the airport. Facing the inevitable, the population must find a dignified way to come to terms with this fact, saying goodbye to their town through the recollection of memories, and their refusal to forget.
