A documentary film by Slovak director Barbora Berezňáková about the dissolution of Czechoslovakia.
Slovakia is a young country still searching for its own identity. Following the breakup of Czechoslovakia during the turbulent 1990s, nationalism, the abuse of power, and corruption came to the fore. As a young democracy, it is still grappling with this legacy, even thirty years after the establishment of the independent republic. At the same time, however, it is slowly carving out space for a modern identity and culture of its own—and perhaps even for a rule-of-law system befitting a member of the modern European community.
