Visual artist Gaia Giani discovers Lee Anne's films and writes to her. One lives near Milan, the other in Los Angeles: but how can they meet when the whole world is forced into quarantine due to the pandemic? During the long months of lockdown, Lee Anne films what she sees around her: nature, forests, flowers. But California is burning, devoured by fires, and the virus continues to spread. In the landscape, Lee Anne tries to find traces of reality, and what in her films always represents history, politics, the memory of a continent, America and its myths, here, on 16mm film, becomes an intimate space that welcomes a collective feeling.
