"Loli Kali Shuba" is a Romani nursery rhyme about the ladybird. Twenty years on Ukrainian filmmaker Aleksandr Balagura returns to the Romani settlement where a twelve-year-old girl once sang this song to him. The children of back then have now grown up. The director depicts a way of life where the locals celebrate All Saints´ Day and Christmas, children and dogs roam the streets and religious ceremonies are complemented by contemporary music, all the while comparing his old black-andwhite footage with the reality of today.
