Krisis is a feature documentary film connected to The Prism GR2011 project, a collective documentation of Greece done with DSLR cameras during 2010-11. It focuses on the economic crisis and how it has affected its people in this quiet and calm country at the eastern border of Europe. The desire was to tell the story of the tormented country through a new type of narrative. Leveraging the available tools of the time and bypassing traditional media institutions, a group of 14 photojournalists and videographers were mentored, which enabled them to make the transition to a multimedia storyteller. 'Krisis' is the synthesis of these different stories into a feature documentary that explores how Greece and the Greeks are handling the economic and social crisis, while reclaiming the narrative through the eyes of a new generation of journalists and storytellers. The Prism and Krisis are testaments to how creativity is the best antidote to a crisis, and that innovation can occur in the darkest of hours.
