Its long-lasting effort to present the best of the unique blend of animated and documentary film to the viewers is crowned by this year’s launch of the new Animadoc Award; a single award of this kind among documentary festivals.

DOK Leipzig has been proving its interest in the merging of the worlds of animated and documentary film since it was founded in 1955. The new award takes up the strong tradition of the Animadoc section, which has been enriching the festival programme for 17 years. Who is to become the first winner in the award’s history?
