For three years now, the five alliance festivals have been sharing a collection of five documentary films deserving the care and support of programmers and producers of renowned documentary film festivals for their originality, attractiveness and other film qualities. Moreover, at the end of each round, one of them is awarded the “Doc Alliance Award”, a final seal of quality transparent for spectators from around the world. In 2010, it was the DOK Leipzig festival representatives to hit the bull’s eye by nominating the French film The Arrivals/Les Arrivants by Claudine Bories and Patrice Chagnard, since it was this very patient observation of asylum seekers in a Paris immigration office made in the spirit of Frederick Wiseman’s films to receive the award at the Jihlava festival.
