Europe as a cradle of film seems to be a well mapped territory. That is why festival curators travel outside its borders to Latin America more and more often. This is where the Chilean documentary platform ChileDoc comes in. It has contributed to our catalogue with eight acclaimed films and its executive director Flor Rubina gave us insight into the awakening Chilean film scene. The eighth edition of the Doc Alliance Selection Award is waiting for its winner to be selected by a jury of European film critics in the summer. The award ceremony will be held in Locarno, Switzerland for the first time. Besides the remarkable documentaries made primarily by emerging filmmakers, the specific character of the Doc Alliance Selection Award is also due to the purely European background of the film jury.
