Are you interested in Czech documentaries? In the next two weeks, you can spend your evenings with the best of the Czech production. Together with the Institute of Documentary Film, we invite you to watch a selection of films from the past year.
In the past twelve months, many documentaries of various genres were made in the Czech Republic. The portraits include The World According to Daliborek about a neo-Nazi whose attitudes have roots in his social situation and frustration. Doomed Beauty, on the other hand, potrays Czechoslovak star actress Lída Baarová and her steep rise and fall. Helena’s Law deals with underground mafia and police officer Helena Kahnová who broke up the Berdych Gang in the 1990s. Strong female figures are also introduced in Girl Power about graffiti writers.
