Czech Documentary Joy Continues!

Czech Joy in Czech Cinemas is also presented online this year. Go watch a new film every night this week; all you have to do is enter in your search engine. Look forward to new documentaries and hybrid films: for instance a portrait of a controversial personality or a road movie about a repeat offender on his journey towards luck!

In cooperation with Ji.hlava IDFF and Mimesis Film, we present four films in real and virtual cinemas. Skokan by director Petr Václav tells the story of Julius who has just been released from prison; the narrative is straddled between documentary and fiction thanks to its authenticity and work with non-actors. Dying for Beginners by Bára Kopecká and Marek Bouda is a joint film exploring the taboo theme of death. Milda is a portrait of Czechoslovakia‘s General Secretary Milouš Jakeš, while the highly ironic Everything’s Gonna Be Fine shows the dark side of the Czech society through a portrait of the city of Brno.

All films were be premiered in Prague’s Kino Pilotů and at the same time at DAFilms.
