Born in Italy in 1987, Maximilien Dejoie started making short films at a very young age. After obtaining a degree in acting and history of theatre and attending a master course in photography, he started working as a director of TV documentaries. His debut on a feature film happened in 2011 with the mockumentary The Gerber Syndrome which was presented in numerous international film festivals and released on digital platforms in 45 countries. In 2016 he co-directed the documentary When We Talk About KGB presented at Full Frame Documentary Film Festival, followed by I’ll Stand by You his second feature documentary as co-director. In 2019 he was one of the four filmmakers selected by The New York Times’s T Brand Studio, as an exclusive creator of branded content for the European territory. Currently, he is in the development stage of Tinginys, his second feature-length film as director.
