Born 1976 in St.Gallen, studied Architecture at ETH Zurich. Marcel Bächtiger works, researches and publishes at the interface of film and architecture. He is author, director and editor of various films, among them The Last Days of the Ceausecus (co-directed with Milo Rau) and Ruäch (directed by Andreas Müller and Simon Guy Fässler). He is lecturer of the elective course Spatial Concepts in Film and Architecture at ETH Zurich and is teaching at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and the ifs (Internationale Filmschule Köln). Since 2015 he is editor of the architectural magazine Hochparterre in Zürich.
