Markús Þór Andrésson is an independent curator, writer and filmmaker. He holds a degree in Curatorial Studies from the Center for Curatorial Studies at Bard College, class of 2007. Previously he was an undergraduate in studio arts at the Iceland Academy of The Arts. His work includes the making of exhibitions, writing on art for catalogues and magazines and writing/directing documentary films and television programs on art. Recent curatorial projects include Sequences VI, a festival of timebased art; Imagine Being Here Now, Momentum - 6th Nordic Biennial for Contemporary Art; and The End, the Icelandic pavilion at the Venice Biennial. He is currently working on a permanent exhibition on Icelandic art history and heritage of visual culture to be opened in Reykjavík in 2015.
