Held biennially and currently organised by the Taiwan Film and Audiovisual Institute, TIDF presents a well-curated programme of more than 130 films, and includes festival-related public and educational programs, such as Q&A sessions, seminars, workshops, and exhibitions. Each edition of TIDF attracts an audience of more than 25,000.
While adopting ‘Re-encounter Reality’ as its core philosophy, TIDF is looking for innovative documentaries with unique points of views which are relevant to social and human interests. There are three competitions (Asian Vision, International and Taiwan) and varying program sections that reflect contemporary culture and challenge boundaries. TIDF also lays emphasis on promoting outstanding Asian documentaries, creating closer associations among filmmakers in the region and encouraging interactions between Taiwan and the rest of the world.
